About Karen Harris
I have done a variety of things in my life. From being a mom, to president of PTA, different sales
positions, including a Realtor with Ebby Halliday.
Color has always been big part of my life (wait till you see my paintings). My mom tells me she used
to leave me in the candy aisle of the grocery. Was it the candy or was it the colors and shapes that
fascinated me? I guess we will never know which it was. All I can say is I consider myself lucky to
still be here. How does a mother leave her child unattended in the candy aisle????
I've painted off and on all of my life. Using a variety of mediums, from watercolor, acrylics and oils.
My true passion is oils. I LOVE the vibrancy, the smell, how smoothly it goes on to the canvas and
how easily I can pack it on. I figure if it's good enough for the Masters, it's certainly good enough for
In the Spring of 2016 I completed my first art show. I was so excited, I couldn't sleep the night before. I actually sold three 16x20 prints!!! I was beaming from ear to ear hearing so many people tell me how much they
love my work. It was so encouraging. So much so, that I have taken the leap of faith to invest in gallery space in the Texture Gallery located in the Midtown complex in Dallas.
You will not find an accomplished artist in me with a long resume of shows, education or experience.
What you will find is enthusiasm, appreciation of all art and a willingness to experiment and learn.
